| Tour 2002 - Lithuania |
In May 2002, thirty-three young(ish) men left these shores for the rugby stonghold of Lithuania. With hope in their hearts and wings on their heels they set out to show the people of that far off land the way that Selly Oak could play the noble game.
The risks were high and the sacrifices great, but after five days of relentless touring they returned battered and bruised but victorious.
These fine men, these unsung heroes stood shoulder to shoulder when lesser mortals would have shrunk from the battle...........and the Vodka!!!
Due to reporting restrictions there is little more I can add, but they know who they are and what they did. So in the words of Michael Buerk let me simply say "I counted them all out, and I counted them all back!".
Until next year.............
Victory on the pitch and off it!
